Great wines from a land of old heart

Franciacorta territory is located to vine culture since unmemorable time. Classic Latins authors like Plinio il Vecchio, Columella, Virgilio reported their testimonniances and so did XVIų century writers such as Andrea Bacci and Agostino Gallo.

But fundamental is the book "Libellus de vino Mordaci", written in 1570 by brixian physician Gerolamo Conforti, the more illustrated and antique testimoniance about production of a wine with "bollicine" in Franciacorta; infact the Franciacorta wine still is defined as "optimum and mordacissimus" wich means sparkling.

Franciacorta Land is a fascinating site and sure it worth a journey. Is very easy to reach, not far from towns Milan, Verona, Venezia. On the railroad Milano/Venezia there is Rovato station near Franciacorta and also many airports: Verona, Montichiari, Bergamo, and Milan.

The cellars of Franciacorta are very near one to the other, located in little villages connected one to the other with little roads, and they are all very interesting not only for excellent wines but also for splendid, old palaces, manors, mansions, little castles: historical houses of old landed noble families. Also little cellars have the tipical fascination of hill sites, quiets and refreshing. Visitors of Franciacorta will discover the secrets of wine and man that create them, Their styles, their talent, their passion and the diversity of the approach to vineyards and wine culture.

With the rule of September 1, 1995 Franciacorta Wines obtain officially the D.O.C.G.(denomination of origins controlled and guaranteed). Franciacorta is the first and the only Italian brut of ripening in bottle wich has gained the DOCG label and license.

Together, with the new DOC, Terre di Franciacorta reserved to quite wines read and withes from Franciacorta.
